How do businesses engage local community issues? What are the most important issues affecting the region that businesses can partnership with nonprofit and public organizations to address? Do policymakers, grantmakers, and company leaders tie social and economic development goals together?
 
12:00 – 1:00 p.m.: National Coordination Issues (General Discussion/Working Lunch)
How is the presence of national policies, programs, organizations felt in San Jose?  What kind of help would you like to see from outside organizations? What other cities do you think are doing a good job?

How do companies and the community as a whole understand and track progress?  What kinds of strategies or partnerships are necessary to achieve objectives that are currently left unattended? What outside support would help public and private sector leaders perform more effectively?
